So you have your Keyword Research and this all important magic money making keywords. But have you correctly used them in your content to get the maximum onpage Search engine optimization?
I wanted to show you the top 5 free tools i use to check my webpage after i have added my content to make sure it is correctly optimized. Giving it the best chance to rank in Google. Using the tool mentioned here you can quickly check your content make the needed changes before starting your backlinking campaigns.
There are some fundamental things you should check your webpage for before you start to promote it with backlinks.
1. Keyword Density.
2. Keyword Placement.
3. Webmaster tool
4. Original content
5. Grammer
TOOL ONE
The first free tool I recommend is SEO QUAKE A firefox plugin that has many SEO benefits.
The main one you can use it for here is Keyword density and Keyword placement. This tool analyses your whole webpage and tells you the density of 1-4 word terms and if its in the title, description and meta tags.
Now I agree with the current views that keyword density is a myth but Its also worth knowing how your site looks in googles eyes. As i firmly believe google looks at sites negatively if a keyword has a super high density.
I was shocked the other day when i visited a clients site and ran the analysis, The page had a keyword density for his main term of 26%. Thats 1 word in every 4. The biggest issue and a frequent problem is the page article was perfect good placement of keywords good density. However the site design then added the following, Keyword tags below the post, Keyword cloud bottom of page, summary of other articles in the side bar.
The Tags and the Cloud accounted for over half the keyword density.
So i highly recommend this tool to check your whole page not just your article.
TOOL TWO.
Where SEOQUAKE helps you with density, the team at SEO WORKERS have a great analyser, that helps you see placement of your keywords.
They check the location of your keyword within the whole page. The browser software provides a very easy check to make sure your keywords are in the right location and allows you to make changes to the page and check that it is now correct.
They also provide the latest advice from the likes of matt cuts at google on why it is important.
As with the tool before this is a great tool to check the page as a whole is doing what you want. For example frequently when you review the H tags and the Alt Tags on the page you wont see your keyword. These are key indicators to google of the site content.
TOOL THREE
Following on slightly from the last tool is googles webmaster tool, This is great free tool to see how Google sees your site. Like SEOquake it has lots of benefits for your SEO activities but the main one when relating to keyword research is what keyword does it associate with your site.
The webmaster tool provides you a list of keyword terms it associates with your site as a whole, and provides a significance rating for it. This is a great way to see if your site as a whole is targeting your core keyword terms.
Quite frequently this isn’t the case and you will be surprised at what terms are listed.
TOOL FOUR
If your outsourcing your content work and a safe guard against accidentally coping content. I strongly suggest a quick pass through copyscape .
This will identify if the content is found elsewhere including your site.
I find this is especially important with keywords that have a lot written about them, e.g. diet has over mill pages on the web so there is a high risk that part of your content might be duplicated.
For the majority of you this will be a 5 second check with no issues.
The second benefit of this check is you can see if people are ripping off your unique content.
TOOL FIVE.
Our Last tool is focuses on the grammar of an article, With google focusing more on quality written content, spelling and grammar are important. Especially as it is easy to check good grammar vs bad or an original article from a Spun one.
Therefore one of the checks i run on my sites is a grammar checker that supports the built in spell checker.
I prefer after the deadline as it provides a free tool for both wordpress plugin and Open office.
Which allows me to check my grammar whilst writing and after i insert the article into wordpress.
Again a great little free tool for people outsourcing their content and for people like me who struggle with grammar.
So thats our top 5 free tools to make the most of your keyword research, remember using these tools allows you to assess both your page and site for correctly optimized keywords.
